Kendall T. From
Kendall "Ken" Trevor From died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010, at his daughter's home in Olympia, Wash. He was 87.
Mr. From was born Oct. 13, 1923, in Pennsauken, N.J., to George Petersen From and Ethyl Roberts (From). He graduated from New Mexico State University in 1952. He married Miriam May Hadden March 2, 1946, in Maple Shade, N.J.
He had lived in many areas including, Kenai; Eagle River; Raymond, Wash.; Carteret, N.C.; Dubai; the United Arab Emirates; Dallas, Texas; Grovedale, Alberta Canada; Deridder, La.; and Crane, Texas. He served in the U.S. Navy SeaBees during World War II, then worked for Atlantic Richfield (ARCO) for 35 years, retiring in 1985. Mr. From was an ordained Baptist minister since March of 1962 and pastored in every place he lived. He was a registered professional engineer, as well.
Mr. From was preceded in death by his wife, Miriam in 2003.
He is survived by two sons, Kendall Trevor From II, of Alexandria, La.; and George William From, of Fort Worth, Texas; five daughters: Faith Miriam McMillian, of Raleigh, N.C.; Patricia May Guerber, of Olympia, Wash.; Joy Leah Crummett, of Port Angeles, Wash.; Ruth Ann Sunderland, of Astoria, Ore.' and Sheila Dawn Reser, of Soldotna; a sister, Brenda Readler, of Mills River, N.C.; 20 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at the First Baptist Church in South Bend, with burial to follow at the Fern Hill Cemetery beside his wife, Miriam May.
Arrangements are in care of Stoller's Mortuary in Raymond, Wash.
